What are the Requirements for the Battery of Mining Battery Electric Locomotives?

The battery of a mining battery electric locomotive is a crucial component that must meet specific requirements to ensure safe and efficient operation. Here are some essential requirements for the battery:

1. Polarity and Connections: The polarity of the battery terminals must be correctly aligned, and the distance between the terminals should not be less than 35mm. Additionally, the exposed portion of the terminal connections to the housing should be at least 10mm.

2. Insulation Resistance: The insulation resistance of the battery casing should not be less than 0.5MΩ. This ensures that the battery housing provides adequate electrical insulation.

3. Maintenance of Electrolyte: In case of electrolyte spillage, the affected area should be rinsed with clean water, and any excess water should be drained using an acid drain valve to prevent corrosion or damage to the battery casing.

4. Regular Inspection: Periodic inspections should be conducted on the battery terminals, nuts, and connecting wires to ensure they are secure and free from damage. Any loose connections or damaged components should be addressed promptly.

5. Replacement of Damaged Parts: If there are signs of battery corrosion, such as swelling, cracking of the casing, or acid leakage, the affected parts should be replaced promptly to prevent further damage or safety hazards.

Adhering to these requirements ensures the safe and reliable operation of mining battery electric locomotives, minimizing the risk of accidents and ensuring optimal performance in mining operations.
